In October 2006 contract awards were made to eight contractors who were responsive to RFP 54159 requirements. The term of the contract is October 19, 2006 through October 18, 2009 with a potential of two one-year renewal options. The intent of this contract is to provide California Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), who qualify for funding within the guidelines set by the California 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Office (9-1-1 Office), with a list of qualified vendors who meet detailed equipment and service requirements at competitively bid prices.

CMAS offers a wide variety of commodity and information technology products and services at prices which have been assessed to be fair, reasonable and competitive. The use of these contracts is optional and is available ONLY to California State and Local Government agencies. Without having to go to bid, an agency may request a copy of the CMAS contract from the contractor of choice; select the products and services to be ordered; and, send the purchase order directly to the contractor.
Master Agreements and Statewide Commodity contracts are the State's main procurement vehicles for leveraging its buying power. Master Agreements and Statewide Commodity Contracts are generally statewide agreements that have been competitively bid, prices analyzed and do not have dollar limits or limitations to their use except as otherwise noted in the agreement or contract.
